Arbitration is a process for resolving disputes between two or more parties in a private, out-of-court setting. It is a form of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) that is often used as an alternative to litigation in court. In arbitration, a neutral third party, called an arbitrator, is appointed to hear the dispute and render a decision, called an award.
