Finding your tribe in Real Estate

Marketing

Every industry has a client-to-brand match. Real estate is no different. It is important to remember that not all clients are good for business. Finding your tribe in real estate is the first step in matching the right people for your business.

You might not be for everyone, and everyone is not necessarily meant for you. That’s okay. Customers that value your time and your knowledge are the ones that you want to work with. A client that does not respect you can be financially and emotionally draining when it comes to finding your tribe.

How do we make sure we are seeking out the ideal client for our business tribe? First and foremost, be upfront about your services, your schedule, and your availability.

COMMUNICATE CLEARLY WHEN MARKETING YOURSELF.

Real estate broker, Rebecca Green, Portland, Oregon. Finding your tribe in real estate.

Here are a few tips on finding your tribe in real estate:

  1. CLARITY – Create clarity for yourself. Make sure you have boundaries set. Understand what type of client you are looking to attract.
  2. CONSISTENCY – Stay engaged within your business networking circles, with friends, and family. Make sure the people in these groups know that you sell real estate.
  3. BIO – Your professional bio is an important part of your branding. A well-written bio will introduce you, your experience, your strengths, and your interests. It’s an essential part of your marketing. Remember that people want to work with people. Make sure your bio conveys who you are.
  4. AREA KNOWLEDGE – Know the market you’re working in and the needs that each area will fit for a client.
  5. BE PASSIONATE ABOUT HELPING CLIENTS – This is a people business and buying and selling real estate can be stressful. Have patience and grace. It is your job to stay calm through any storm. When I talk about finding the right client, it does not mean that every interaction with every client is going to be smooth sailing but when there is a mutual respect in play, it is easier to get the results your client desires.
  6. BE PERSISTENT IN YOUR PURSUITS – Listen to what your client needs. Ask them questions. Follow-up.

Creating this type of framework for your business and keeping the consistency will in time pay off. I’ve seen this happen first hand for myself and I’m certain that it can happen for you. Finding your tribe in real estate is rewarding and will help you show up for your business in a fresh and new way.
