The Kings Heights neighborhood in Portland, Oregon is part of the West Hills. It overlooks the highly coveted Northwest District of Portland, is less than 10 minutes from downtown and a great location for those working in the tech corridor, Beaverton or Hillsboro.
Kings Heights is also less than 1 mile to some of the best shops, restaurants, and amenities in the city. It is super walkable and easy to get to some of our favorite spots along the popular NW 23rd and NW 21st streets. Thank goodness for good bus service too! Those hills are much easier to get down than they are to get up!
Some of our favorite spots to eat, drink and be merry near Kings Heights include-
- Zupan’s which is in our opinion the best grocery store ever. Great wine selection and gifts as well as some of the best fresh and prepared food in town. The flower department in all of the stores is also pretty amazing!
- Phil’s Meat Market has great lunches on the grill out front and the butchers are so nice!
- Thai Bloom has lots of yummy dishes on their menu. Some of our favorites are Kratong Thong, Pork and Ginger Pot Stickers, String Bean Stir-fry and Drunken Halibut
- Konrblatt’s Deli has the best Reuben sandwich in town in our opinion
- Papa Hadyn is a great place for brunch, cocktails, and dessert….oh my the desserts!
- Ringside Steakhouse while this one is a bit further away from Kings Heights than the others, it is close by and would be hard not to mention. So, let’s see…..everything is amazing here. The food, the service, the bar, the drinks. Perfect 10 every time we have been!
Shopping…..lots of great shopping just outside your doorstep too.
What we love about Kings Heights Real Estate
The Kings Heights neighborhood in Portland, Oregon is small and is a residential-only neighborhood. It features sweeping views of breathtaking sunrises, mountains, and the lights of downtown Portland. Known for the winding streets, privacy, and older-style homes, the steep topography offers one-of-a-kind homesites. Streets are quiet and not terribly congested. Traffic in the neighborhood is generally limited to those that live there rather than any drive-through traffic. The area features many multi-million-dollar homes with cover-worthy designs by the nation’s top designers and builders, including recently updated Tudor, Victorian and Colonial homes, as well as new contemporary and modern homes. Green Space
The spectacular views and peaceful streets make the busy city below seem a world away. But this city neighborhood also offers unbelievable access to some of the best parks in the area. It borders the forested Macleay Park and the largest urban forest in the U.S., the 5,000-acre Forest Park. Other great nearby outdoor activities are the Hoyt Arboretum, Portland Japanese Garden, and Portland’s International Rose Garden. Also close to the Oregon Zoo, the Portland Children’s Museum, and the World Forestry Center.
